First, sorry no pictures yet, I'm working on vacation and Kylie pictures.
Secondly, It's really starting to suck that I can't do the one thing I love to do so much this time of year: mountain biking. It also feels like I'm sort of cut off from a number of my friends that I done so much biking with in the past. I really hope I can get this knee sorted out soon (surgery's still scheduled for June 12th, but I may have to move that because of work). I've hidden my bike in the dark recesses of my basement, but I swear I can actually feel it there, being sad. Reading my friend's blogs, like Chris Plesko's (http://slipangles.blogpsot.com) as he prepares for some truly insane ultra-endurance races just makes it worse.
On a fairly random note, we bought a third car. Sort of. It was $400. But at least I can put the baby in it (the 2-seater Eclipse and motorcycle are noticeably lacking in child carrying provisions). Oh yeah, the new one's a '94 Nissan Pathfinder (190,000 miles!)...runs great believe it or not.
Last, I recently sort of rediscovered the world of solo fingerstyle acoustic guitar (well, not entirely, since I no longer own a guitar to play myself, besides I couldn't do 1/4 of what some of the artists out there are capable of). Anyway, I'll leave it up to the reader to decide if it's for you, too. Check out www.candyrat.com, and search YouTube for Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, and Craig D'Andrea. The amount of sound these dudes can produce from a single 6-string guitar is beyond mind-boggling. That ought to get you started, and remember all these guys are in their 20's...

Wish You Were Here (well, not ALL of you at once)
Writing this from the lobby of the Royal Solaris Los Cabos in Baja California Mexico. Los Cabos is about 10 minutes from Cabo San Lucas (which is probably a more recognizable locale).
Anyway, Trisha and I are having a great time (but missing Kylie quite a lot, as expected). We're planning to post TONS of pictures to this blog once we get back home, but for now, you'll just have to settle with knowing it's been about 85-90deg, 30% humidity, and sunny all week. Volleyball, sitting by the pool, seeing whales, snorkeling, ATV'ing on the beach, and enjoying all you can drink bars have definitely been nice break from the work grind (even though Trisha doesn't have much to complain about, having only been back at work 3 days). One might argue Kylie is several full-time jobs however.
Talk to everyone in a few days.
Love, Ryan and Trisha

Those Wild and Crazy Weathermen
Supposedly we're all supposed to be buried in 12 inches of snow today. Apparently that means 0.5 inches of nasty cold rain-stuff. Half the news this morning was dedicated to the fallibility of weather prediction. Weathermen sure have it easy, what other job under the scrutiny of thousands of people allows for a 50% success rate? Well, maybe the entertainment industry, but we wont' get into that.
Ultimately I guess crappy weather is crappy weather (and it sure is crappy today, despite the lack of snow).
Finally starting to feel a little better today, too, after having the worst headache of my life yesterday. Those 2 year old antibiotics I found in the cabinet must be doing their job.
In home news, Kylie's still being mostly a shrieking beast (albeit a fairly adorable one), although we're convinced she's otherwise healthy. More pictures forthcoming.

More Work, More Weekend (Still Sick, Still Snowing)
Yep, back at work again. Starting to think Kylie's okay, she just doesn't like me very much. :) Because she's been just fine for her mother. Probably doesn't help that I'm never around. She was good last night and this morning though, so maybe it's nothing.
I, on the other hand, must have caught the creeping death or something...I can not shake this. Guess it's time to waste $30 on a doctor's appointment so they can tell me it's viral and send me on my way.

Still Sick + Work on Weekend + 25F Weather + Snow = Suck
Good times, just me and Wallace at work today. At least I got to spend this morning with Kylie, even if she did (literally) scream the whole 4 hours. I really think something's up with that poor kid. Probably time to bring her to the doctor's next week, even though (on the phone) they assure us she's probably okay. HMO's...gotta love 'em.

Sick Daddy = Sick Baby?
Well, I've been sick for about half the week now, and we're wondering if maybe Kylie's getting it too. She's been quite the monster today, not wanting to sleep for more than about 15 minutes at a time. I have a feeling tonight's going to be a long night. :( Poor kid, considering how I've felt, I wouldn't wish it on her (especially since the main symptom's been a sore throat and all the shrieking can't feel very good).
It's possible she's allergic to the dogs, too, we were afraid that might be a possibility. Only the next trip to the doctor's will hold the answer. In the meantime, enjoy an Easter related assortment of photographic goodness.
